What a contrast Arsenal find themselves in compared to the beginning of last season. At this stage, the Gunners had conceded four and scored none with a 5-0 drubbing from Manchester City on the horizon. Fast-forward a year and it looks like the Gunners have been resurrected from their crushing Champions League qualification failure from last season.
Much in part due to the contributions of Gabriel Jesus. Having failed to score or assist against Crystal Palace, the new Arsenal striker needed to get himself on the scoresheet to stave off the inevitable questions that would come after two goalless games, especially with Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez both scoring on the opening weekend.
However, he did far more than that and was involved in all four goals the Gunners put past Leicester to rightly earn themselves all three points. Yet there were moments of concern that quick responses were able to mask but they have not gone unnoticed.

William Saliba’s own goal and some worrying moments from Aaron Ramsdale, including conceding from a tight angle to a James Maddison strike, took the gloss off the win somewhat. Despite these frustrations, Arsenal still look very strong indeed.
As they do with every game, the UK's national media reacted to the victory, so here’s a quick look at the assessment.
The Guardian wrote: “Whisper it quietly but Arsenal may just have found exactly what they were looking for. A virtuoso display from Gabriel Jesus on his home debut yielded his first two competitive goals for the club and a second victory to begin the season for Mikel Arteta’s side in perfect fashion.”
The Telegraph added: “If only Arsenal had defended with the same intensity with which they attacked, then this match would have passed without even the slightest concern for Arteta. Alas for Arsenal’s manager, there were a few moments of needless defensive nervousness.”
And finally The Evening Standard reported: At times on Saturday, it felt like you were in Rio de Janeiro and not north London as Arsenal ran riot against Leicester. And no, it wasn’t because of the sweltering 37-degree heat, but instead the impressive performance of Arsenal’s Brazilian forwards.
