Dimitar Berbatov reckons Erling Haaland will make life easy for Pep Guardiola if Manchester City win the chase for his signature. Speculation over the Borussia Dortmund forward remains at fever pitch amid reports City are edging closer to signing him during the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old has emerged as one of the hottest properties in Europe since moving to Dortmund in January 2020 and has totted up a staggering 82 goals in 85 games for the Bundesliga outfit. Haaland will cost £64million when his release clause activates - although the Norwegian will command a hefty wage packet - although the Blues are staying tight-lipped about any potential deal.
Speaking in his role as a Betfair ambassador, ex- Manchester United star Berbatov said: "If the reports are true and Erling Haaland is to be a Man City player then it's massive news for them. They don't have a proper centre-forward at the moment, like a Sergio Aguero. They don't have that typical number nine and Haaland can bring that to them with his speed, agility and ability to score goals.

"He's so hot at the moment with the way he plays football - and will be a great signing for City. When you buy the right players, it's much easier for the manager to produce results and win trophies."
Berbatov added: "He oozes confidence, you can see how easy he finds things on the pitch and off it in interviews. You can see by his body language how much he believes in what he can do and he backs that swagger up with his performances. The Premier League likes these kinds of players with a bit of attitude and style.
"When you have a manager like Guardiola and you are surrounded by unbelievable talent in the team it will be easy to fit in straight away. He's young, he's ambitious and has the football world at his feet at the moment. He can reach great, great heights in the game."
