Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he will discuss the worsening political situation in Ukraine with Man City's Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Zinchenko's home country is currently at risk of being invaded by Russia, according to news reports.
US officials believe that Russia is now 70 per cent likely to invade the European country at some stage.
With such a volatile environment back in his home, Guardiola has outlined plans to discuss the developing issues with the City defender.
Speaking following City's victory against Fulham, Guardiola said: "We will [speak about Ukraine] for sure, but we haven't yet because we have had just three or four days together and before that he had an injury and we were focused on that."
The Catalan boss added: "The fact this kind of thing happens in the 21st century is depressing.
"It is difficult to accept it.
"I will speak to Oleks he knows the situation much better than I do.”
Zinchenko has so far made 13 appearances in all competitions for Guardiola's side this season.
