Pep Guardiola has told Newcastle United to be careful after the Premier League revealed Manchester City were alleged to have broken over 100 rules. The Spaniard claims the charges brought to City were driven by Premier League clubs and has namechecked all nine of those who lobbied the Court of Arbitration for Sport to uphold a two-year Champions League ban back in 2020, while an appeal process took place.
Earlier this week, the Premier League revealed the current title holders had breached the organisations financial rules. It's the second time the club are alleged to have breached Financial Fair Play regulations, with UEFA temporarily expelling the club from the Champions League by UEFA for breaching FFP, however, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled a year later that the club did not disguise equity funding as sponsorship contributions - but that City did fail to co-operate with UEFA authorities.
"They've opened a precedent right now," Guardiola said. "What they've done to us – be careful in the future. Many clubs can make a suggestion and there are a lot of clubs who could be accused like we have been accused without being innocent.

"Burnley, Wolves, Leicester, Newcastle, Spurs, [Manchester] United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea wanted us out of the [European] competition. We are not part of the establishment of this league. They believed that we didn't behave properly. We can accept that, but let us defend when we believe we did it properly. What happened with UEFA happened today. Nineteen teams are accusing us.
"There are suggestions. I don't know. You'll have to go to the CEOs, [Tottenham's] Daniel Levy, and ask them."
Guardiola has since doubled down claiming the club is innocent and will be successful in an appeal process.
