Manchester City were once again left wondering about what might have been as they drew 1-1 with RB Leipzig in the Champions League round of 16 first leg.
Pep Guardiola's side dominated the first half in Germany and hit the front when Xaver Schlager's loose pass fell to Jack Grealish. The winger's through ball picked out Riyad Mahrez who finished emphatically in the 27th minute.
After the break it was all change and the hosts were buoyed by the introduction of Benjamin Henrichs. The substitute went close around the hour mark and eventually the Bundesliga side got their goal as Josko Gvardiol headed home from close range.

Guardiola's post-match message to his players
Very rarely does Guardiola hide his emotions on the touchline but, normally, once the full time whistle blows he waits to have his say in the dressing room. City's players were given no such reprieve on Wednesday.
Before they could thank the visiting supporters, Guardiola gathered his players in a circle and gave them what appeared to be quite a lecture regarding the match. Eventually, the Catalan boss told his team to leave the huddle and applaud the away support who did well to make themselves heard.
Boos for the Champions League anthem - not just from City fans
It has become a common occurrence before Champions League nights for the City supporters to boo the anthem before kick-off. What is more of a rarity is for the home fans to join in.
RB Leipzig's proud home supporters made their feelings clear towards UEFA and joined in with the Blues fans to boo the anthem. Not a good night for the European footballing body.
Hansi Flick spotted in attendance
Germany's head coach was spotted by the cameras in attendance at the Red Bull Arena last night. The hosts clearly had plenty of German talent for him to observe but captain Ilkay Gundogan will be hoping he impressed.
The captain nearly scored for the Blues with 15 minutes remaining but his fellow countryman Janis Blaswich made the save of the match to deny him.
