Only one thing would outweigh an historic treble for Pep Guardiola - scoring a goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The newly-crowned Premier League champions have effectively swept all before them this season en route to their third consecutive title. Of the sides to frustrate City, Spurs appear to have done the most damage.
The north London side won 1-0 back in February courtesy of Harry Kane's solitary strike - that goal seeing him become the club’s record goalscorer ahead of Jimmy Greaves. Whilst the result ended up being pretty irrelevant in City’s pursuit of the title, it extended the champions’ poor record when travelling to the white half of North London.
Man City have lost against Spurs away from home in each of their last five trips, four of those being in the Premier League. They have not managed to score a single goal in that time.
In fact, the last goal they managed to score against Spurs away from home was in a 1-0 win in October 2018. That game was however played at Wembley Stadium as the North London side’s new stadium was being built.
The previous game - a 3-1 win for City - was also played at the national stadium. Before that, Man City lost 2-0 at White Hart Lane, meaning Guardiola has never seen his side score a goal against Spurs in North London since taking the reins at Man City.

It appears that the Spaniard is aware of that shocking record. Asked what he has left to achieve should he lead the club to the treble, he jokingly replied: “Score a goal against Spurs away. It's why I stay, I want to beat Spurs away."
As City continue their pursuit of the treble, they have 115 breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules hanging over them. That process has seen Guardiola’s future with the club called into question but the Spaniard insists that he is not thinking about going anywhere regardless of the result.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Brighton, he said: “Right now I am not thinking about leaving, but who knows? But I am not thinking.
“I would like to continue here next season independent of the results. I would like it, but I don't know what I am going to feel, winning or losing the two chances we have ahead of us.
“My feeling is that I have a contract, and when I sign, I want to respect the club. I will stay next season while there are 115 breaches against us. Don't worry, we will be there.”
