Pep Guardiola provides promising Erling Haaland injury update with hint at Man City vs Fulham rotations

Pep Guardiola is optimistic Erling Haaland will be fit to face Fulham on the weekend after an ankle injury for the Manchester City striker.

A whopping 22 goals in 16 games have helped the Norwegian star settle in at the Premier League champions although he has sat out the last two matches while nursing the problem.

“He's much better, we'll decide today,” Guardiola stated on Friday.

“A good step, he starts training today. We see this afternoon.

“We consider his opinion, the doctor's opinion, [if he will play] 90 minutes or less minutes... we'll see.”

Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden were rested for the midweek win over Sevilla and City boss Guardiola insisted he will continue to rotate his line-up after being questioned on the England midfielder’s game time.

“Him and Riyad [Mahrez] and [Jack] Grealish and Bernardo and [Ilkay] Gundogan and De Bruyne have been on the bench,” he said.

“Not an issue. We have many players, we have to use them [and] demand the best of them. This has to happen, it always has been like that.

“In Dortmund we played to qualify first [from our group] and De Bruyne doesn't play.”
