Pep Guardiola piles pressure on Arsenal as Premier League title race mind games continue

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has claimed that Premier League title rivals Arsenal will win all of their remaining fixtures this season.

The Citizens currently sit one point clear of the north Londoners, who have just three matches to play, whilst the league leaders have four. It is a huge swing from the standings just over a month ago when the Gunners had led City by as much as eight points, although they had of course played one extra match than the reigning champions.

Now, Guardiola has backed Mikel Arteta's side to secure maximum points from their three remaining fixtures, games against Brighton, Nottingham Forest and Wolves.

"I think definitely they are going to win their three games, I would like them to drop points to be honest but I think they will get nine points", the former Barcelona boss said when asked about Arsenal's title hopes.

City will take on Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon before the Gunners welcome Brighton to the Emirates Stadium later in the day.

When asked about the Toffees, Guardiola added: "There were big results in the Premier League but we thought in the last games everyone plays for something and will be tough. It can happen.

"They scored the first goal in the first minute (during their 5-1 win over the Seagulls), a surprise for the two early goals, the physicality Everton have is really, really good. Anything can happen."
