Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on the atmosphere at St. James' Park as he anticipates another tough trip to Tyneside. The Manchester City boss believes the home of Newcastle United is one of the best stadiums in the Premier League.
It's hard to disagree with that statement, especially since the Magpies takeover went through last year. Wor Flags have helped transform the atmosphere in the ground and long may that continue.
Speaking ahead of this weekend's game, Guardiola said: “Newcastle away is always an incredible environment. The fans... it’s one of the best stadiums since I have been here in England. I know how they support the team. It’s a good test for us.”

It's not the first time the Spaniard has heaped praise on the Magpies' and manager Eddie Howe. Speaking in December 2021, Guardiola said: "It is not easy to go to Newcastle and get a result. We will need the whole team and hopefully we will be strong enough to get the points.
“Newcastle is a very tough opponent. People will talk about our place in the table or their place in the table but when you go to Newcastle you know what sort of game to expect.
“Now they have a new manager in Eddie [Howe] and we know what a good manager he is. They have had a tough start to the season but they are a good team with good players and a top manager so we will go there and have to work hard for each other to win the game."
