Pep Guardiola message to Man City players ahead of Real Madrid

Pep Guardiola is not shying away from one of the biggest matches in Manchester City history.

The Blues are 90 minutes away from a second Champions League final in three years but must beat competition masters Real Madrid to make it there. City have never won the competition and are desperate to, but are also one win away from Premier League and FA Cup glory.

Guardiola made no references to the fact that City would win the league this week in his press conference for Real Madrid and also brushed over any questions that mentioned a potential Treble and how that would impact on his legacy. While acknowledging how big Wednesday's game is, the manager has told his players to enjoy the occasion.

"My legacy is already exceptional," he said with a smile. "We have been here many times - we are not stupid, we know how important it is, maybe one of the most important since we are together for the competition, the rival, and many things.

"I’ve told the players to live it as a huge opportunity and enjoy the moment. We are incredibly lucky to be here. It’s in our hands, it depends on us, we don’t have to do anything exceptional, just be ourselves and win one game to reach the final.

"We’ll do everything, I have an incredible feeling about the team and whatever happens, thank you so much to them for getting us here again."
