Pep Guardiola makes Micah Richards walk off after revealing his funniest clip of season

Micah Richards jokingly walked off set when Pep Guardiola admitted that he enjoys watching the former Manchester City defender be ridiculed on television.

Guardiola joined the CBS Sports punditry team and host Kate Abdo following City's hard-fought 1-0 Champions League final victory over Inter Milan on Saturday, clinching an historic treble in Istanbul. Richards, an ever-present on the US broadcaster's popular coverage, had the opportunity to ask Guardiola what his favourite part of the show was and Guardiola the left ex- England international humiliated.

"Normally I enjoy the introductions from Kate when they destroy you," the City manager replied. It was nod to how Abdo regularly introduces previous Champions League winners Jamie Carragher and Thierry Henry by lauding their achievements before finally going to tease Richards, who didn't win the competition and enjoyed a considerably less prestigious career.

His comment prompted hysterics from the whole crew, as Richards hilariously trudged off and walked out of the frame with his head down. "He's so sad," Guardiola laughed before his post-match chat came to an end, having previously expressed how he enjoys watching CBS' coverage.

"It's the funniest show in the Champions League this season," the former Barcelona boss, who won his third European title as a manager on Saturday, added. "I follow sometimes, some moments."

CBS' popularity has grown thanks to social media, with viewers worldwide able to see the coverage which Americans can enjoy from home. Before Saturday's show ended, host Abdo revealed that she'd signed a new four-year exclusive contract with the broadcaster, joking: "Listen, you could cut me now I would bleed CBS."

Liverpool legend Carragher, who also works for Sky Sports as a pundit for their Premier League and Carabao Cup coverage, recently explained why he feels CBS that has become a success amid a bustling landscape of football coverage. "It is different from what I've been used to in the UK," Carragher is quoted as saying by World Soccer Talk.

"It's a lot more light hearted. The feedback I get, even from people working in television, is that they want an element of what we have on CBS in England a lot more. To make things not as serious, maybe not so black and white. We have that on CBS, but we also enjoy ourselves."

Richards added: "Doing punditry, it is like we are allowed to express ourselves in every way. If it is serious stuff, when it is racist stuff or sexist stuff, we go really hard on that. If it is fun, we go all the way. We can go between the both. Why I think it has been received so well is because it is, more or less, the same four in the studio every time."
