Guardiola on Bernardo
Pep Guardiola could not confirm that Bernardo Silva will stay at Manchester City this season amid strong interest from Barcelona.
Barcelona were keen when Bernardo was looking to leave the Etihad last summer but did not come in with a suitable offer. Despite the financial difficulties of the Catalan club, they have taken several steps in recent months to raise money for transfers and have made their interest in Bernardo clear.
City have already sold a number of senior players in the current window, with Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko moving to Arsenal and Raheem Sterling going to Chelsea. Nathan Ake was wanted by Chelsea as well, although the west London club refused to meet the terms that were demanded.

Gundogan answers fans' question on contract
Ilkay Gundogan says now is not the time to discuss his long-term future at Manchester City as the new season looms large.
Gundogan — who became Pep Guardiola's first signing as City manager when he arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2016 — has less than a year remaining on his contract, with his current deal set to expire in June 2023. Despite that, the 31-year-old is remaining tight-lipped on his future, insisting — like Guardiola — that now is the time to focus solely on on-field matters.
"We will see. Right now it's really just about focusing on the new season..." Gundogan replied in a Twitter Q&A when asked if he might extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium.
