Pep Guardiola has ‘proven’ himself in the Premier League after building a long-term dynasty at Manchester City.
The Sky Blues were crowned as champions once again on Saturday as Arsenal slumped to defeat to Nottingham Forest. They lifted the trophy 24 hours later as they rounded off their home campaign with a slender 1-0 victory over struggling Chelsea.
It means that City have won each of the last three domestic titles, whilst they have only failed to lift the title in one out of the last six campaigns - underlining the dominance that they have enjoyed since Guardiola’s arrival in Manchester.
After being confirmed as Manuel Pellegrini’s replacement at the Etihad Stadium, the Spaniard revealed his target of proving his abilities in England - something he has more than achieved.
Speaking ahead of the 2016/17 campaign, the ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss said: "That is why I am here. I proved myself in Barcelona and after I proved myself in Germany I wanted to prove myself in England.
"I cannot do that alone. I need the players, the staff. We need our fans. Without that, it is impossible."

Whilst Guardiola was targeting some personal vindication, one of his other targets was to establish a long-term dynasty at the Etihad Stadium. Given the frequency with which they claim the Premier League crown, it could be argued that he has achieved that too.
"I like the players who don't just think for themselves but think about Manchester City," said Guardiola.
"We are all the people who are working here. The reason we are here is to think, 'What can we do to make this club a better club?'
"I don't want the guys to think about what the club can do for them. We are here to make Manchester City a better club in the next three, four, five years."
City’s season could get even better over the forthcoming weeks as they target an historic treble. They take on Brighton and Brentford away from home over the final two Premier League games before turning their attention to two titanic finals.
They at first take on fierce rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley before clashing with Italian giants Inter Milan in the Champions League final, where they could lift the trophy for the first time in their history. Should they win both trophies then City would become just the second side in history to win the treble after Man United in 1999.
