Pep Guardiola admits Ederson must make decision over Man City future amid Al Nassr links

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says goalkeeper Ederson has a decision to make over his future at the club.

The Brazil international, who has won six Premier League titles at the Etihad Stadium, has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Al-Nassr are reportedly keen on the 30-year-old, who has two years to run on his contract at City.

Ederson played in the second-half of City’s pre-season friendly loss to Celtic in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Guardiola confirmed his desire to keep the Brazilian for the season ahead.

“I don't know. He has to see maybe now other options," said the Man City boss.

"Of course I'd like him to stay. Depends now [on] the clubs.

“I don't know the situation, no contact in the last days. A question of training and being with us until the transfer window finishes and we see what happens.”

The champions have signed only Brazilian winger Savinho this summer but Guardiola insisted “anything can happen” during the closing stages of the transfer window.

"Absolutely [he's so important],” he added.

“He's been the keeper for the team that has incredible success the last seven or eight years. We have an incredible three keepers, especially the two who play regularly.

“A really important position in the team. Really good team [of keepers]. We will see until the last day of the transfer window when anything can happen. Not just Ederson but many players."

City lost 4-3 to the Scottish champions, fighting back from three goals down after half-time before eventually conceding a winner from Luis Palma just after the hour mark

Guardiola’s side play AC Milan in New York on Saturday before traveling to Florida and Columbus to meet Barcelona and Chelsea respectively.
