Naming a baby is one of the hardest decisions parents have to make. It has to be a moniker they both like, and they have to consider other things such as being taken seriously professionally when the child grows up.
It's a monumental task, with endless names to choose from – which is why many overwhelmed parents take inspiration from films, TV series or books.
One couple decided to take inspiration from their favourite TV series Game of Thrones, the series based on the best-selling fantasy books by George R. R. Martin.
While some people loved the names they chose for their triplets, it isn't everyone's cup of tea. A forum user explained how they had met triples recently and their monikers didn't impress.
The Reddit user wrote: "Met some triplets. Preschool-age triplets I recently met: Wolf, Wild, and Winter."
Others pointed out that the parents were likely inspired by Game Of Thrones, and not everyone was impressed by the TV-show inspired monikers.
One commented: "Game of Thrones fans? Regardless, major yikes."
A second said: "I'm a triplet and I'm so glad my parents didn't do that..."
However, a third pointed out: "I guess I don't associate these things immediately with Game of Thrones. Maybe that's just because I'm from the wild north.
"Still, not names I would ever use."
Others started sharing other unfavourable names they had heard, with one person sharing: "I once met a woman whose twin sons were named Boy and Guy. I thought she was joking (she was a friend of a friend) and laughed."
Another Reddit user commented: "I know siblings called Brave, Strong, Free, and Wild."
A third commented: "I know twins who are Wylde and Rebel. People shouldn't name kids."
However, not everyone agreed on the harsh criticism, with one person saying: "This is so something I would do, I won't even lie."
This isn't the first time parents have used fantasy and literature to inspire their children's names.
Previously, a fan of both J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet shared he wanted to name his child Benwise, which is a "combination of Benvolio and Samwise".
Not everyone was a fan of the made-up name, with one person saying the "unique" name might attract bullies.
