Dublin Fire Brigade has urged residents in the Clondalkin area of Dublin to close their doors and windows.
As firefighters battled a large blaze this evening, people were warned of “thick acrid black smoke” spreading across the townland.
Several tractor tyres were found to be on fire in the Kilcarberry area of Clondalkin on Sunday night.
In a statement on Twitter, Dublin Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters from Tallaght are dealing with large tractor tyres on fire in the Kilcarberry area of Clondalkin.
“Thick acrid black smoke is drifting across the area. If you are living downwind of the fire please close your doors and windows to prevent smoke entering your home.”
In a recent update they added: "The Foam & Environmental Unit has arrived on scene and Firefighters are using foam to smother the fire.
"Foam will make a huge impact and the fire will be out shortly. Smoke from the fire should now have dissipated."
