People woke up to the sound of "crackling" as a blaze engulfed the decking of a pub.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue were called to Dee View Road in Heswall in the early hours of the morning on Monday, July 18. When fire crews arrived at the scene at 2.47am they found a van in the car park of the Dee View pub "well alight".
An area of decking and fencing was also involved in the fire. Videos shared with the ECHO by a resident who lives opposite the garden of the pub shows huge plumes of smoke, orange flames and flashing lights from fire engines.

The woman told the ECHO : "We live in the houses just opposite the pub's garden. We were woken up by the crackling of the fire as we had our windows open due to the heat."
A photo shared of the aftermath of the scene shows a white van completely damaged by the fire, part of the decking destroyed and pub benches and chairs also broken.
Fire engines remained at the scene for around two hours as they fought the blaze. An investigation into the cause of the fire has been carried out. It is believed the fire started accidentally.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue said: "Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service was called to Dee View Road, Heswall, in the early hours of Monday, July 18. Crews were alerted at 2.44am and on scene at 2.47am. Two fire engines attended.
"On arrival crews found a van well alight in the car park of a public house. An area of decking and fencing was also involved in fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used high pressure hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
"Fire crews remained on scene until 5.13am. An investigation into the cause of the fire has been carried out. It is believed the fire started accidentally."
