People on the Move: North East appointments and promotions

Newcastle homeware brand Rowen Homes has recruited former Made.com head of buying Rob Hudson.

Mr Hudson, who previously worked at Made.com, BHS and Next Home, will head a buying team of four at Rowen Homes that is responsible for sourcing and developing more than 8,000 products for the online home store.

Rowen Homes co-founder Alice Hall said: “We’re thrilled to have Rob Hudson joining us to run the Buying team and help us source more amazing stock.

“Our current team has done an incredible job, sourcing over 8000 lines for shoot and release in our Blaydon studio, but demand is so high that we now have a need for more suppliers and many more lines. Rob has the exact skill set we need, being experienced in the technicalities of furniture and with the ability to manage large merchandising budgets.”

H&H Land & Estates has promoted chartered surveyor Tim Sedgewick to the role of director (Glendale PR)

H&H Land & Estates has promoted chartered surveyor Tim Sedgewick to the role of director.

Mr Sedgewick will to oversee the firm’s Durham office, and is seeking to grow and develop the business presence and service across the North.

He said: “I am thrilled to receive this promotion and I am looking forward to taking on new responsibilities. I have a background in rural and commercial property, and I am passionate about rural issues. We are facing some challenging times for both the property and rural sectors and as a company we have a wealth of knowledge and expertise, meaning we are ideally suited to advise and support our customers to ensure that they maximise all opportunities.

“In taking up this new role my aim is to ensure we provide effective and efficient services and ensure that we stay at the forefront of the property and land market.”

Property group Eddisons has made a new appointment to its growing valuations team at its Newcastle city centre office.

Donna Alderson has joined Eddisons from Newcastle City Council as a senior surveyor. She managed a varied portfolio of properties for the council including Grainger Market, Eldon Square shopping centre and the Theatre Royal. A RICS qualified chartered surveyor, Ms Alderson has wide experience across all areas of general practice surveying.

Eddisons director Jason Smith, who heads the firm’s valuations team in the North East, said: “We are really pleased to welcome Donna to our growing team.

“Eddisons are approved panel valuers for all the high street banks, as well as many other banks and lending institutions. We have also seen growth in our private client work through relationships with a network of local professionals. Our latest new appointment will enable us to further grow our valuation service offering across the North East and Cumbria.”

Ms Corrigan will oversee HR recruitment from entry to middle level HR appointments across all HR disciplines for North East based businesses. She moved into recruitment a couple of years ago after previously working in international retail management and resourcing.

She said: “I am excited to have the opportunity to work for an established specialist recruiter where service excellence is at the forefront of everything we do. Having been a people manager previously I am passionate about how HR teams can add value within a business and I’m looking forward to supporting our clients in their search for HR talent.”

Mr Finlay’s role will include close liaison with forward build control and planning, plus facilitating customer sign ups to ensure that future Alncom customers have full understanding prior to their connection of ultrafast fibre broadband.

He said: “Alncom have one of the highest customer service plans I have ever encountered and coupled with their tremendous team spirit and experience, I leapt at the chance to work with them.”
