People left gobsmacked after man reveals hilarious jelly mistake he's made for 20 years

People have been left in fits of laughter after a man confessed he's been eating jelly the wrong way for over 20 years without realising. As most jelly connoisseurs will know, you can purchase your favourite flavours ready-made or ready to be mixed, the Mirror reports.

If you opt to make your own pack, you simply add boiling water to your cubes then enjoy the jelly once it has dissolved. However, one foodie has hilariously admitted that he has been eating the jelly straight from the packet and only realised his error two decades after he first started doing it.

Fessing up in a comical online review for Hartley's Strawberry Jelly 135G on Tesco's website, he wrote: "Thought cubes tasted great, very strong and a bit chewy, then was pointed out to me that they are in fact supposed to be melted in water... after spending 20 years eating cubes. Will give an update when I've tried them as intended :("

The website entry from 2021 understandably stood out among the rest of the more expected feedback and quickly grabbed the internet's attention after a screenshot of the mistaken fan's confession was shared online last week. After being posted on Twitter by @NoContextBrits, social media users were left gobsmacked by the man's amusing mistake.

One person replied: "If this is legit then by far the best 20 year discovery ever". While another asked: "What next, drinking concentrated juice?"

Social media users were left in stitches by the man's review but it seems he is not the only one (Twitter)

Meanwhile several others commenters revealed they purposely eat the jelly while it's in cube form as they like the taste of it. One fan admitted: "Always treat myself to a few cubes when I'm making jelly."

A second agreed: "I used to love eating jelly cubes and also oxo cubes." A third person questioned: "Are you even British if you don't eat a cube while making the jelly?"

The secret raw jelly lover's confessions continued as another revealed: "I used to eat raw jelly before my swimming competitions for an instant energy boost. Still not sure if it worked, but I did get bronze in the butterfly nationals."

Another cube advocate added: "My Nan used regularly to give me one of these on the drive back from shopping (to shut me up cos I moaned and whined). Ate it cubes and all. Stunning."
