The Spanish town of Hellín has been recognised as an International Tourist Interest site since 2005 for its Easter Week and Tamborada, which combines tradition and passion.
The festival is typified by its drumming, one of its great signs of identity. UNESCO has declared the drumming of Hellín and Intangible Cultural Heritage and more than 20,000 people of all ages take part in the event.
On the afternoon of Holy Wednesday, the tamborada of Hellín begins, in which thousands of drummers of all ages march through the streets of the town beating their drums and thundering out ancestral rhythms.
