People have only just learned how to pronounce 'Shein' after saying it wrong for years

Shein is one of the most well-known fast-fashion brands out there, providing shoppers with affordable clothing that's always up to date with the current trends.

Since launching back in 2008, it's been hugely loved by clothing fans and has become more popular in recent years, with Money.co.uk even naming it as the most popular fashion brand of last year.

But, as famous as it is, it turns out a lot of us don't know how to pronounce Shein - and after one woman was ridiculed for pronouncing it a certain way in a TikTok, it was soon revealed that she was right.

The Mirror reports that @katelynjensen19 proved thousands of people wrong as she was able to show proof of a Shein spokesperson revealing how the brand was pronounced.

So if you've been calling it 'Shine' or 'Sheen' and correcting your friends who say otherwise, you might actually be the one in the wrong.

The name is pronounced 'SHE - in', as the fashion lover explained in a now-viral video. "I just went out and got my own proof," the TikTok user said. "So if anybody ever comes for me again for saying Shein, please maybe do some research first because I'm more of an MLA citation kind of girl with some proof."

She then showed a Tweet exchange between the brand and a customer. As seen in the message she shared, someone went straight to the source to find out 'How do we pronounce Shein?' @SHEIN_Official replied: "Hi there! It's pronounced SHE- in."

The official Shein Twitter account told fans how to pronounce the brand name (@RuthC_Z / Twitter)

The video gained over 200,000 views as people seemed to be equally as blown away by this discovery.

One stunned commenter wrote: "EVERYONE TOLD ME THAT WAS WRONG." A second viewer said: "It bugged me so much when people said SHEEN Lol like NO it’s SHE-IIIIIN!!! Lol."

Someone revealed: "I say she-in and everyone's like 'iTs ShEeEEn' or 'it's shine' like NO." And a different person thought: "Every time I hear someone say 'sheen' I'm like who told you it was pronounced like that? And why...?"
