People gobsmacked by clever Post Office money hack - but others have done it for years

Other than sitting on the corner of your road and acting as a quick pit stop to send a parcel or two, Post Offices are extremely handy for other reasons too. A woman left people floored after sharing a little-known Post Office money hack, which people are claiming they "never knew" about.

In a bid to make people aware of the useful tip and save an unnecessary commute to deposit some cash, mum Karen shared how to pay money into your bank account - and you don't even have to visit your local branch. Sharing the tip to popular video-streaming service TikTok, she explained that it can be done from the comfort of your local Post Office.

In the clip, which has surpassed 150,000 views since posting, Karen explained: "Honest to God, I never knew this. You can deposit money in the Post Office and it goes into your normal bank account.

"Our local bank branch has closed down as many of them have done, right?

"And it's a good hour and a half round trip for me to go and put money in the bank."

She continued: "Now my 12-year-old son goes 'just take it to post office, why are you wasting your time?'

"And I'm like, 'what?'

"I've just gone to the post office, handed in money, straight in my bank, job done. I never knew that!"

Rushing to the comment section of the popular post, viewers were in debate over Karen's tip. While some were were keen to try the idea, others have claimed they've sworn by it for "ten years".

"I never knew that!!!!" One person wrote.

A second agreed: "I never knew that either."

"Omg all these times I’ve gone into town just to deposit when I have a post office two minute walk from me," a different user wrote.

On the other hand, one person claimed: "This has been the case for at last ten years."

"Been able to do that for years now. Bless you. God job your boy sorted you out," another agreed.

A worker wrote: "Thank you!!!! I've been trying to educate our customers for years!!!"
