People camping overnight at Welsh beauty spot hit with fines and one faces day in court

A Welsh council warns that drivers who park overnight at a popular beauty spot will receive fines and face court if they refuse to acknowledge the authority of their officers.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council Enforcement stated that their officers discovered a number of offences while patrolling Rivermouth car park and Ogmore Common.

In a Twitter post, the council said: "#OpElstree update. Officers are currently patrolling Rivermouth car park and Ogmore Common. A number of byelaw and PSPO offences have already been identified and are being dealt with.

"One driver has so far refused to move his vehicle and will receive a NIP for a number of offences. The driver also refuses to acknowledge the authority of our officers. A day at the Magistrates Court looms..."
