A bizarre Christmas card purportedly made by Donald Trump has been widely shared online - but it’s bogus.
The fake card features the former president standing in front of a manger with the message: “Merry Christmas From The Winter White House. December 2021.”
The top of the graphic includes five baubles which seem to depict the 75-year-old’s family (with poor 15-year-old Barron being left out).
But that’s not what has captured the internet’s imagination…

The bottom of his waistcoat looks as though it’s been edited to appear more rounded, and Santa’s sleigh is seen jetting off directly over his head.
The result? A phallic depiction of the 46th president.
Oh where to begin with this monstrosity?

🔺Trump is not president
🔺 Mar-a-Lago was never the WH
🔺Trump has Ivanka before Melania in the ornament line up
🔺 Where's Barron?
🔺Look at the white front of Trump's tux. Why does Santa & reindeer look like ejaculate from a big penis? pic.twitter.com/KviDRcg217
When the image first started doing the rounds online, fact-checkers at Reuters did some digging. They contacted Trump’s spokesperson Liz Harrington who confirmed the image “is fake and did not come from us”.
Although Reuters couldn’t find the exact image that was doctored, they believe it could have been taken during Trump’s visit to Buckingham Palace in 2019.
The image was also shared by political journalist Grant Stern yesterday morning, but he deleted it once he realised he “got punked by a Twitter trend”.
He tweeted an apology with links to Snopes and Reuters articles that debunked the card’s authenticity:
I got punked by a Twitter trend :-)

So, to stop the trend, I deleted this tweet. With apologies was a parody. https://t.co/wJtQ8DbMZS pic.twitter.com/v4KL7kWfd1
Another one of the accounts that shared the image also apologised, and added: “It was SO in character it fooled us too”.
We apologize. Apparently this card is a fake. It was SO in character it fooled us too. https://t.co/PU3Qkz4bwi

We’re not sure the sophisticated “graphic designer” who put this monstrosity together understands that “dreaming of a white Christmas” refers to the weather…
Eye bleach, please.
