We've all been there - falling foul of a fashion faux pas that can easily be fixed. One of these common mistakes can be wearing a white bra under a white T-shirt. It may sound like a winning combination, but it turns out there's a better way to style your white clothes, without the bra showing underneath.
Influencer Lydia Rose, who posts on Instagram with the username @fashioninflux showed her followers the best bra to wear under white is actually red, as it cannot be seen at all underneath the white top she puts on, leaving people flummoxed at how it looked better.
In the video, she put a white T-shirt over a red bra, and then a white bra, and bizarrely the red coloured bra couldn't be seen when she put the top on.
In the comments, people were speculating how it all works as they were amazed by the unusual hack.
One wrote: "The red matches your skin tone. I think that's why it looks better than wearing a white bra under a white tee."
"What?! If this works with mine it’s a game-changer!", someone added.
"So true, wearing a red bra now under a white shirt and it doesn’t show!", another praised.
Others suggested their own tips: "I wear a nude color [sic], it's the best for white tops."
A lingerie expert waded in on the debate, commenting: "I work for a lingerie company and if you don’t want your bra to show under white clothes, beige is better than white. Personally, I don’t care if my bra shows but a lot of people don’t like that."
Someone else claimed that the red bra hack wasn't foolproof, writing: "As someone who wore a red bra through college, it does show through white shirts", followed by a crying emoji.
