A man has shared a way to open cans of food without having to hurt your fingers or break your nails.
Tins with ring-pull openings are obviously much easier to tackle with your hands than those without. But according to content creator @sidneyraz on TikTok, there is an even simpler way of going about it, using a spoon, that took him years to realise.
In the video, he said: "Here's something I didn't know until I was in my 30s", before finding a tin of food and a spoon to show his followers what he was talking about.
Then, he used the spoon to lift the metal tab, before pushing the handle through it and pulling back the lid, the Mirror reports.
"You can open a can with a spoon," he explained.
The video, which has racked up over 82,000 likes, struck a chord with many people who were amazed at Sidney's simple hack for opening cans.
In response to Sidney's video, several commenters were quick share their delight at learning the trick. "What. No way!" read one comment. Another said: "Thank you, I do this daily now," while someone else replied: "My nails thank you for this info."
"Helpful for those with arthritis!" another chimed in.
However, many were dumbfounded at how few other people knew about the hack.
"I figured that out myself," said one person, and a second wrote: "I have been doing that for ages."
For some, the method has been common knowledge since they were children. One viewer said: "Dude, I had been doing this since I was like SIX!!!" and I different person replied: "I've done this since I was like 6."
"Us nail-biters already knew that," another person joked.
