People are just realising they've been wearing bras wrong their entire life

A stylist has left people floored after claiming that everyone's been wearing bras wrong their entire life without even realising it.

The woman revealed that if you're experiencing discomfort from your bra's underwiring or you've noticed that your boobs aren't fitting correctly in the cup, you could be wearing the wrong lingerie entirely.

Taking to popular video-streaming service TikTok, Kenzie shared a variety of game-changing bra-fitting tips that have "changed [her] life" for the better.

Kenzie - who boasts more than 450,000 followers on account @stylingwithkenzie - claimed that "80% of people" watching her video were wearing the wrong bra size.

She went on: "My first job out of college was at a luxury lingerie company where we were trained on how to properly fit women into bras - and I'm going to teach you everything I've learned in that training.

"Number one - the fit of a bra band is the most important. The fit of the band should fit parallel around the small of your back and you shouldn't be able to pull it out more than two inches.

"A lot of women get the sizing of the band completely wrong because they're concerned about the snug fit, but over time your bra is going to stretch out, so you want to make sure that when you're trying on a bra for the first time that you're attaching it to the loosest hook and not the tightest.

"Number two - cup size. The fit of your cup is influenced by your band size. As your band size changes, so does your cup size. So, for every band size that you go down, you should be going up in cup size."

The stylist revealed that breast spillage out the top of the cup or "coming out of the sides" is a common sign that you've opted for a size that is too small.

Kenzie explained further: "If your bra is sagging, puckering, or even has gaps, then your cup size is too big. This may come as a surprise, but your straps are not there for support, it's your cups and your band that are providing the support in your bra.

"Number three - your cup shape really matters. There are over 25 different bra styles and most popular stores only carry five, which means you might be wearing a t-shirt bra right now, but actually, your breast size, your breast position and breast shape are better fitted for a balconette or a plunge bra."

"By wearing the proper bra shape, you'll look more lifted, more smooth, but most importantly, you'll feel more comfortable and more supported," she added.

Since sharing the video online, Kenzie's insightful advice left her inundated with responses from people sharing their gratitude.

One person wrote: "This is super helpful! Great video, thank you!"

Another agreed: "Great advice! So true."

A third penned: "I have spillage at the centre of the cup and space at the top."

Kenzie replied: "That may be an indication you need a different style!"
