A woman has left people's jaws dropping after revealing that jean zippers have locks.
The sudden discovery has caused a stir online, with many individuals admitting their shock by the addition of such a small but significant feature.
Marilyn - who boasts more than 570,000 followers on TikTok account @mmarlo__5862 - left social media users stunned after sharing a clip to the popular video-streaming service., which has surpassed a whopping 5.1 million views to date.
The clip followed Marilyn undoing the zipper of a pair of jeans with ease.
However, when she pushed the zipper to lay flat, it automatically locked into position and wouldn't move.
Despite tugging on the fabric and pulling at the fastener, the small feature wouldn't budge.
Marilyn claims that she was 'today years old' upon the discovery that 'zips have locks'.
Captioning the post, she wrote: "I seriously had no idea!"
Since sharing the viral video online, over 450 TikTok users fled to the comment section to share their puzzled reactions.
"I TRIED ITS TRUE," one person said.
"Are u serious?" A different user questioned.
A third person commented: "Makes so much sense now."
While several people were admittedly stunned, others questioned how they were unaware of the discovery for so long.
"How did you not know this???" One person questioned.
Meanwhile, someone else claimed: "Wow I've known for over 25 years."
A third wrote: "I know this from many many years."
