People are 'cobwebbing' ahead of Halloween, says dating expert

Bumble, the dating app, has identified a new dating trend, ‘cobwebbing’ ahead of Halloween. ‘Cobwebbing’ refers to clearing off the cobwebs and dumping old names and flames so you can make the first move towards something new.

Bumble’s Sex & Relationship expert, Dr Caroline West said: "Holding on to past relationships, whether that be phone numbers, messages, or even an old T-shirt, can hold you back when it comes to dating as you're not mentally focussed on the present. By actively ‘cobwebbing’ your environment of the past, you can then move forward feeling more empowered, confident and open to meeting someone new."

Bumble has launched a series of free dating experiences in London. The events will run weekly through to December 14 and will include everything from a flaming cocktail-making workshop ahead of Bonfire Night, to a Dog Walk and Coffee meet-up in Hyde Park for those looking for a dose of puppy love.

All events are free, and you can get a ticket on the Bumble app or via the Bumble IRL website where the full line-up of events can be found.
