A pensioner is said to be in a serious condition after a smash between a car and a lorry in Grangemouth last night.
The 74-year-old man had to be cut free from his car by firefighters after the collision on the A905 Beancross Road, across from the town Rannoch Park, shortly after 4:30pm.
He was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary under a police escort where medics described his condition as serious, but stable.
The lorry driver was uninjured.
Pictures from the scene showed a huge emergency response with up to five fire engines and an ambulance in attendance.
The road was closed for several hours while cops launched an investigation. It has since reopened.
Officers from Police Scotland are asking anyone with dashcam footage of the crash to contact them on 101.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Enquiries are ongoing."
