A pensioner has died in hospital one week after she was allegedly attacked by a man in a Scots home.
Emergency services rushed to Oystercatcher Close in Forres around 10pm on Sunday August 28.
The 84-year-old woman was rushed to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with serious injuries and sadly died on Saturday September 3.
Scott McCulloch, 25, was charged in connection with attempted murder and appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court on Tuesday, August 30.
He has been remanded in custody and no further charges will be considered until a post mortem examination is carried out.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10pm on Sunday, 28 August, 2022, officers were called to Oystercatcher Close in Forres after an 84-year-old woman was found with serious injuries.
“A 25-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with attempted murder and appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court on Tuesday 30 August, 2022.”
“The 84-year-old was taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital, but died on Saturday, 3 September.
“Enquiries are ongoing and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
