A pensioner has died after being knocked down by a car in Trimdon, County Durham.
Police were called just before 5.30pm on Wednesday to reports of a car crash involving a pedestrian on West Lane, at Trimdon railway station.
Paramedics were also on the scene, but sadly, the man in his 70s was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man has not yet been named.
The road has now re-opened, and an investigation is ongoing.
A spokeswoman for Durham Constabulary said: “Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone with dashcam footage of the incident.”
