A pensioner died in a horror car crash near Kelso at the Scottish borders.
Officers were alerted to the smash involving a grey Kia Venga and a red Mercedes GLE 300 on the B6397 at around 8.55am on Friday morning.
A 72-year-old woman, who had been driving the Kia Venga, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have launched a probe into the crash and say the road remains closed in both directions this afternoon.
Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick from the Road Policing Unit based at Livingston said: “I am appealing to anyone who was on the B6397 this morning and witnessed the incident, or noticed either vehicle on the road beforehand, to please get in touch.
“In particular I would urge any motorists with dash-cams to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact the Road Policing Unit based at Livingston through 101, quoting incident number 0732 of Friday, 11 November, 2022.”
