A pensioner has died after being found injured at a Scots property.
Emergency services raced to Erskine Street in Dundee following reports of a "disturbance" at around 11.30pm on Sunday. A 66-year-old woman was found injured and taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.
Steven McCulloch, 39, was charged in connection with the incident and he appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday. Officers have now confirmed the pensioner has died and their enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
McCulloch appeared in private on Tuesday charged with assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement. He was also accused of a breach of resisting, obstructing or hindering police officers and a further allegation of assault.
McCulloch made no plea and was committed for further examination and remanded in custody. He is due to appear again in Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday, March 14.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.30pm on Sunday, March 5, 2023, officers were called to a property on Erskine Street, Dundee, following a report of a disturbance.
“A 66-year-old woman was found injured and was taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.
“A 39-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and was due to appear before Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
“The woman has since died and enquiries are ongoing.”
