Pensioner, 80, dies in horror three-car crash near Scots hotel

A pensioner has died after a horror three-car crash near to a Scots hotel.

Emergency crews were called to the incident on the B9130 near to Balbirnie House Hotel in Fife at 6.30pm on Tuesday, April 11. Medics attended and on arrival, an 80-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A further two men were treated at the scene. Images from the incident a black vehicle fully mounted on the side of a grass verge, with several fire engines, ambulances and police in attendance.

The road was closed for around for hours to allow police to carry out investigations. Officers say inquires remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving three cars on the B9130 near to Balbirnie House Hotel, around 6.30pm on Tuesday, April 11. Emergency services attended and an 80-year old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“A further two men were treated at the scene. The road was closed for around four hours to allow investigations to be carried out. “Enquiries are ongoing.”
