Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Col. Christopher Paris stated on Tuesday that the state police had a specific role in supporting the Secret Service during the Trump rally in Butler on July 13. The operation plan put in place involved 32 members who were tasked with two main responsibilities.
The first responsibility was to conduct a motorcade operation for the transportation of former President Trump in coordination with the Secret Service. This involved ensuring the safe and secure movement of the former president during the event. The second responsibility was to man and staff security posts within the secure area of the Butler County Farm show. This was crucial in maintaining a secure environment for all attendees and officials present at the rally.
In addition to these responsibilities, the Pennsylvania State Police also provided two marked cars with uniformed troopers outside of the secure perimeter. These troopers were assigned roving duties to enhance security measures and ensure the overall safety of the event.
Commissioner Paris emphasized the collaborative effort between the state police and the Secret Service in executing their duties effectively. By working together and coordinating their resources, they were able to maintain a high level of security throughout the event.
The presence of the state police personnel and assets played a significant role in ensuring the smooth operation of the rally and the safety of all individuals involved. Their proactive approach and strategic deployment of resources contributed to the overall success of the security measures put in place for the event.
