Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has expressed his unwavering support for Vice President Kamala Harris and the 2024 Democratic ticket, despite not being chosen as her running mate. Shapiro had gone through a two-week vetting process leading up to the decision, reportedly engaging in discussions with Harris on Sunday. Although he was not ultimately selected, Shapiro stated that he was grateful for the opportunity to speak directly with the Vice President about her vision for the role and the campaign ahead.
Emphasizing his dedication to completing his current term as governor, Shapiro acknowledged that the running mate decision was a personal one for both Harris and himself. He expressed his support for the Democratic ticket, highlighting his positive relationship with Governor Walz and his excitement for the country to get to know them better.
In his statement, Shapiro announced his intention to spend the next 92 days before the election traveling across Pennsylvania to campaign for the Harris-Walz ticket and unite voters in support of their candidacy.
