PENALTY hero Courtney Brosnan last night insisted that she knew exactly where Caroline Weir was going to send her spot-kick.
The Girls in Green goalkeeper pulled off a crucial 14th minute save to keep the score level, at a time when Scotland were beginning to dominate the match.
She said: “It’s hard to put into words, I’m so proud of everyone. It’s been amazing.

“I knew what I needed to do to help the team, today it was saving a penalty.
“When she (Weir) stepped up, I said this is mine. So I’m glad I could make the save and get the win.
“We’d been working on it all week so definitely practised. This whole staff works so hard, it’s unbelievable the hours they put in to help us and prepare us.”
Brosnan can’t wait to go Down Under next summer.
“I’ve never been to Australia. I’m really looking forward to it. My dad is in the crowd and tonnes more were watching at home,” she said.
“It’s been amazing, to cement myself and show what I know I’m capable of and help a team that means so much to me. It’s been amazing for me personally.
“We knew at the end of the last campaign that we never wanted to go through that again.
“It was all about putting that right, we can see the growth and maturity in the squad. It is a massive step forward for us.”
