Women awarded a class action payout over failed pelvic mesh products will have to wait until at least February to find out how the money will be distributed.
In September, around 11,000 women won an overall settlement of $300 million as compensation for the failed mesh products by Johnson & Johnson Medical and Ethicon.
Shine Lawyers, the firm behind the class action, is proposing to take $37 million in administration fees for the distribution of the payout to those involved.
The Federal Court said on Monday it would consider making an order to allow other law firms an opportunity to put forward a cheaper plan.
More than 200 women in the class action group of about 11,000 indicated to the ABC they were unhappy with the compensation proposal released by Shine Lawyers.
The matter will return to court in February.
