Wednesday night’s contest between the New Orleans Pelicans and Milwaukee Bucks has been postponed due to the snow storm in New Orleans. Jake Madison of Locked On Pelicans was first to report.
Several roads are closed because of the icy conditions.
A date for when the game will be rescheduled has not been provided yet.
The last time New Orleans received any relevant amount of snow was 2009, showing just how rare this storm is.
Pelicans Have Momentum
The Pelicans were set to play the final contest of a four-game homestand. They’ve looked much better of late, with five wins in their last six. The only loss was a one-point defeat at the hands of the defending champion Boston Celtics.
CJ McCollum has been on fire, scoring 71 points over the last two games, including a 45-point game in an overtime victory against the Utah Jazz on Monday.
Despite the recent success, it is very unlikely the Pelicans will be able to dig out of being 20 games under .500 and look even remotely relevant in the playoff picture.
Bucks Making A Run
Milwaukee has looked quite good of late, winning seven of its last eight games.
There have been no signature wins during that period, though, with the victories coming against the Toronto Raptors (x2), San Antonio Spurs, Orlando Magic (x2), Sacramento Kings, and Philadelphia 76ers.
This comes at a time when the Bucks have popped in trade rumors, specifically in association with Bradley Beal.
Beyond this game against the Pelicans being postponed, there is concern over whether the team can depart New Orleans in time to host its next game against the Miami Heat on Thursday. NBA insider Chris Haynes reported.

Watch Out For Texas Storm?
While the game in New Orleans is the only one postponed as of Wednesday afternoon, significant snow has taken a toll on Houston, Texas.
The Rockets are set to host the Cleveland Cavaliers in a marquee matchup, but it may be worth keeping the weather in mind getting closer to game time.
Schools were closed for both Tuesday and Wednesday.
