Jimmy Peirson has been drafted into Australia's Ashes squad and will replace Josh Inglis for part of the tour as back-up wicketkeeper.
Peirson will join the Australian team ahead of the second Test at Lord's, with Inglis planning to return home for the birth of his first child.
Inglis will then rejoin the squad in England at a later date.
Pierson's call up is well deserved after being one of the most consistent performers in Australian state cricket in recent years.
The 30-year-old has averaged 34.75 across eight years of first-class cricket and went on the most recent tour of New Zealand with Australia A.
The Queensland state captain has also spent the past week training with the team in Brisbane.
Australia must also name their 15-man squad for the World Test Championship final against India by Sunday, with seamer Josh Hazlewood still under an injury cloud.
