Pedro Porro starts, Danjuma dilemma: Best Tottenham XI after dream January transfer window

Tottenham have been handed a huge boost in their mission to secure Champions League qualification this season thanks to the arrival of Pedro Porro. The 23-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Spurs throughout the January transfer window and, despite it once looking as if a deal had collapsed, Fabio Paratici wrapped up a deal.

In order to prise Porro from Sporting, Tottenham agreed to a loan with an obligation to buy which is expected to cost around €‎45million (£39.5million). football.london understands the deal has been structured as such to fit in with the Portuguese giants' financial commitments.

After a stressful turn of events on deadline day, Spurs fans are eager to see the Spaniard in action - and he goes straight into the club's strongest XI. Tottenham also welcomed Arnaut Danjuma to club last month and, while Son Heung-min will expect to start, the Dutchman has scope to establish himself as a star in N17.

So, with that being said, football.london has taken a look at Tottenham's strongest starting lineup now that the January transfer window has slammed shut.

Formation

A 4-2-3-1 allows Antonio Conte to field as many of Spurs' exciting forward players as possible, within reason, while still operating a strong defensive structure. While supporters will be keen to see their best creative players in action, the Italian will likely opt for a 3-4-2-1 instead.

Goalkeeper

Hugo Lloris still holds a place in the Tottenham starting lineup after a replacement wasn't signed in the January transfer window. Spurs are said to be in the market for new shot-stopper now that the 36-year-old has entered the final 18 months of his deal.

Defence

With Pedro Porro in the starting lineup, Tottenham pose a far greater threat going forward. While the right-back may have more creative freedom in a wing-back role, he can be just as effective as a full-back by supporting Dejan Kulusevki; the Swede can cut inside as Porro overlaps to create overloads in the final third.

Midfield

Conte's best midfield pivot continues to pick itself after the January transfer window, with Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur at the heart of the action. Pape Matar Sarr has impressed in recent weeks and Yves Bissouma has proven he has great potential to fulfil so a three-man midfield could be on the horizon.

Attack

In attack, Spurs are spoiled for choice; Son and Danjuma on the left-wing; Kulusevksi and Lucas Moura on the right-wing; Harry Kane and Richarlison vying to lead the line. So, for Conte to get the best out of his options, Tottenham can partner their two strikers with the former dropping deep to provide a link between midfield and attack.

If Danjuma can continue his goalscoring streak, he could soon force Son out of the side. Healthy competition is great news for the north Londoners.

Spurs' strongest starting lineup after January transfer window: Hugo Lloris; Ben Davies, Eric Dier, Cristian Romero, Pedro Porro; Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur; Son Heung-min, Harry Kane, Dejan Kulusevski; Richarlison.
