The Game of Thrones star and his fellow actor Russell Tovey make fruitless visit to Kent gallery
Pedro Pascal, best known for his roles in “Game of Thrones”, “Narcos” and “The Last of Us”, turned up to a fan’s art show based on him last weekend – only to find it closed.
The art show, named “ADHD Hyper Fixation and why it looks like I love Pedro Pascal”, was created by 45-year-old artist Heidi Gentle Burrell. The artist told The Independent that she uses her art as a means of expressing her “self-diagnosed” ADHD.
Her previous “muses” have included Sesame Street duo Bert and Ernie, and the cast of the hit BBC show “Ghosts”. But the artist’s “fixation on Pedro” came to a head earlier this year, and she started creating art inspired by the star in mediums such as paint, mirror-imaging and Photoshop. “I wouldn’t call myself an obsessed fan – but I do hyper-fixate on capturing him in my art,” she said.
On Sunday, Pascal arrived at the Rhodes Gallery in Margate to view the art, with fellow actor Russell Tovey and the gallerist and former musician Robert Diament.
But the trio found that the gallery “was shut for the day”. The celebrities took a selfie outside the gallery to mark the occasion instead, said The Guardian. Tovey shared the post on social media with the caption: “Margate art friends reunited”.
Gentle Burrell told Essex Live that she was only aware the star-studded trio had tried to visit her show after seeing the snap on Tovey’s Instagram account. “It was absolutely nuts,” she said. “So many lovely people have messaged me in the last couple of days. I completely understand why Robert didn’t tell me he was going with Pedro, they want their privacy.”
She added that she first watched Pascal in his early performances in the cult TV show “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” as well as the 2015 comedy-horror film “Bloodsucking Bastards”.
Gentle Burrell said she appreciated Pascal’s good looks long before he became famous, telling the news site: “I just found he had a really interesting face, from an artistic point-of-view. He’s got two little bald patches in his beard and creases in his eyebrows and bridge of his nose.”
