Pedro Neto outlines Arsenal and Man United transfer stance as winger explains his 'dream' move

Arsenal transfer target Pedro Neto has outlined his transfer stance amid links with an exit from Wolves in the remaining week of the window. It comes as the Gunners eye potential reinforcements to their forward line, adding both depth and quality in the right-wing in particular.

That's due to the potential exit of club-record signing Nicolas Pepe, who is yet to feature this Premier League season and was excluded from the matchday squad against Bournemouth with a view to a move. OGC Nice and Leicester City are two sides linked with a loan for the Ivorian.

With a focus on further outgoings, manager Mikel Arteta has failed to rule out the possibility of more signings before the end of the window: "We don’t like reacting obviously, we want to get the players that we believe will make a big impact in the team. If we can do that, we will try to do that. If we cannot, we will stay with the players we have."

Neto is one of the latest to be linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium to fill the forward line, with the 22-year-old continuing to impress since his return from a lengthy knee injury. The Gunners are said to be joined by Manchester United in the race to his signature, while Wolves have set a £50million price tag.

Amid such speculation, the Portugal international spoke about a transfer, not necessarily quashing the possibility, but switching his focus to Wolves. Speaking to the Times, he said: "I always like to hear this sort of stuff but I’m focused on my job here because I’m feeling very good here.

"The things you hear makes you work even more, it’s good for you and your mentality to know people know your value. The dream of any player is to play in the Champions League. I want to help this club to go higher and higher because I think we have that potential with the way we work, the way we sign players, the way we try to arrive there.

"We were very close last year but it is missing something and that’s something we have to work out between us."

It remains to be seen if the Gunners can entice a move this season for the winger, however a return to the Champions League could well tempt him to make the switch next summer if not.
