Pedro Neto: Arsenal fear being priced out of move for top transfer target as Wolves demand up to £50m

Arsenal fear they will be priced out of a move for Wolves winger Pedro Neto.

The Gunners have spent big during the current transfer window, splashing out more than £100million on the likes of Fabio Vieira, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Arsenal are still keen to recruit a winger, though, and the club have identified Neto as a top target.

A switch to north London for the Portugal international before the transfer window shuts next week will be tough, however, as Wolves could demand as much as £50m for Neto as he only signed a new five-year contract in March.

Arsenal want to sign a new winger as club-record signing Nicolas Pepe is in talks with French side Nice over a loan move.

Neto is seen as an ideal replacement for the Ivorian and he is represented by super agent Jorge Mendes, who brokered Vieira’s move from Porto to the Emirates earlier this summer.

Neto, who grew up an Arsenal fan, was voted as Wolves’ player of the season for the 2020-21 campaign.

He suffered a serious knee injury in April last year, but returned to action last season and has made a steady start to the current campaign at Molineux.
