Pedestrian killed in early hours hit-and-run collision in Brent while another dies in Chingford

A woman pedestrian has died after a hit and run with a car in north west London.

Police and paramedics were scrambled to Kingsbury Road at just before 12.30am on Thursday.

The injured woman, aged in her 60s, was treated by medics but died at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed

A crime scene and cordons remain in place while detectives are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

They are hunting for the driver who hit the woman and failed to stop.

A police statement said: “Police were called at 00:27hrs on Thursday, 7 November to reports of a collision at Kingsbury Road in Brent. Officers and London Ambulance Service [LAS] attended.

“At the scene a car had been in collision with a female pedestrian. The driver of the car did not stop at the scene.

“The injured woman, aged in her 60s, was treated by medics, but despite their efforts, she sadly died at the scene.

“Her next of kin have been informed. A crime scene and cordons remain in place while emergency services undertake their enquiries.”

In a separate incident another woman in her 60s died after a collision in Chingford.

Police were called at just after 2.15pm on Thursday after a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Chingford Mount Road.

.A man has been arrested in connection with this incident and enquiries remain ongoing.
