Pedestrian hit at East Grange Railway Station in Adelaide's west, a day after child struck

A pedestrian has been hit by a train west of Adelaide, the second incident in the past two days.

Emergency crews are at the East Grange Railway Station in Adelaide's west.

Police received reports just after 1:30pm that a 74-year-old woman had been struck by a train near the railway station on Terminus Street.

Multiple ambulance crews worked on the patient before rushing her to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

It is understood she has suffered life-threatening injuries and in a critical condition.

An 11-year-old boy remains in hospital in a critical condition after being hit by a train at the Tambelin Railway Station yesterday morning.

The Grange line has reopened after being closed for about two hours.

Police have asked the public to avoid the area near McLean Avenue.

A train on the Grange line overshot the end of the tracks and derailed last year.

Three pedestrians died after being hit by trains in Adelaide last year.
