Pedestrian, 33, dies after being hit by car in Bexley

Metropolitan Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was fatally hit by a car in Bexley, southeast London.

A man, 33, died after the collision with a Vauxhall Corsa on Eastern Way at 5.17am on Friday.

Police officers and London Ambulance Service attended but sadly the man died at the scene. Enquiries are underway to notify next of kin.

A silver coloured Vauxhall Corsa, travelling east toward Erith, was involved and the driver is assisting police with enquiries, the Met said.

There have been no arrests.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are investigating. They are particularly keen to hear from any witnesses who saw the collision, or captured it on CCTV or dashcam footage.

Any witnesses yet to speak with police are asked to call the SCIU at Catford Traffic Garage on 020 82851574 quoting 1003/17FEB2023.
