Pearl Lowe and Danny Goffey's deVOL kitchen shows how to use pink in a sophisticated way – it's 'glittering, glamorous, and secretly practical'

Pearl Lowe and Danny Goffey's deVOL kitchen - shelving and counter.

A deVOL kitchen is instantly recognizable, with handcrafted cabinetry and bespoke fixtures serving as a key identifier of this beloved company. That's why when we found out about Pearl Lowe and Danny Goffey's Notting Hill kitchen, we knew it needed to be shared.

The designer and musician are creative in their day-to-day lives, so it's no surprise that their kitchen is a reflection of their stylish sensibilities.

'Glittering, glamorous, and secretly practical, this new classic English kitchen is designed to be functional, but because it is in the main living space of Pearl and Danny's new home, it really needed to be beautiful, relaxed, and definitely not too kitchen-y,' says Helen Parker, creative director of deVOL Kitchens.' Let's take a closer look at the sophisticated pink space.

The color palette is what we first took note of, with mint green cabinetry and pale pink walls making the case for a pastel comeback. As Helen explains, it's also reflective of the elegant and bustling neighborhood that the apartment is located in.

'Westbourne Grove, Portobello Road Market, and our favorite, Golborne Road, are all close to Pearl and Danny's new place. It’s such a buzzy, unique part of London, eclectic, stylish, and just a bit bohemian,' Helen explains. ''Stepping through the door into a gorgeously atmospheric and moody house was seriously intoxicating, we just loved how pretty and delicate it felt! Pearl and Danny had managed (of course!) to give the house exactly the right personality, comfortingly soft and sparkly in a very grown-up way.'

The appliances are just as decorative as the accessories. The powder blue stove has a retro feel, while lace cafe curtains contrast the cool, teal marble countertops, creating a highly dynamic space.

'This kitchen had everything; a Dairy Table and Bentwood Café Stools, a big fridge freezer, a deep copper sink and plenty of storage, it even had a baby blue Lacanche cooker,' Helen says. 'Pearl had chosen some of her favorite possessions to style this room, I would have known it was her house even if no one had told me.'

The farmhouse style sink features a gold tap, adding a luxe element to the space and coordinating with the cabinetry handles, as well as the pendant lights. Sheer, lace curtains once again make the space feel traditional and historied.

A floating shelf also acts as a display unit, where Pearl and Danny showcase art and decorative objects, making the kitchen feel like a gallery space. This is heightened even further with a mirrored backsplash, which adds dimension to the area.

This kitchen proves that blending contemporary and traditional styles will never go out of style.
