Two multi-car crashes on Tuggeranong Parkway caused traffic delays

Two multi-vehicle crashes on the Tuggeranong Parkway at Curtin caused extensive peak hour delays.

Both incidents were near where Cotter Road intersects with the Tuggeranong Parkway, heading northbound.

The crashes occurred within minutes of each other from about 5.30pm on Wednesday, May 22.

One crash involved up to seven motor vehicles and was blocking at least one northbound lane.

No people were trapped, everyone was out of their vehicles and ambulance, fire and rescue and police were on the scene.

The second crash had at least four motor vehicles involved. Everyone was out of their vehicles. One patient was assessed by paramedics and transported to hospital with minor injuries.

At least one car involved in the second incident needed to be towed from the road.

The two crashes were still causing delays to northbound traffic as of about 7pm.

Police remained on the scene to wait for tow trucks to clear the road.
